I keep trying to build plymouth from the AUR and the following error keeps happening at the very end:
/tmp/yaourt-tmp-aj/aur-plymouth/./PKGBUILD: line 50: patch: command not found
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
Aborting...
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build plymouth.
The command I am using is yaourt -S plymouth. Since that didn't work, I also tried the git version: yaourt -S plymouth-git.
Any suggestions on fixing this? I really wanted a good looking boot screen.
P.s., Splashy doesn't work either but with a completely different error (Checking for required M4 macros... libtool.m4 not found pkg.m4 not found).
Thank you,
AJ

What does "pacman -Q patch" tell you?

WonderWoofy, ONCE AGAIN, thank you very much for the help. Patch was NOT installed. So I installed it and then there were some make errors. I reinstalled base-devel and then reran the plymouth install and it worked perfectly. I don't even know why I didn't think of checking to see if it was installed. Once again, thank you.
