Hi all, configured(or tried to) sound on my arch linux install yesterday.
Did:
pacman -S pulseaudio pulseaudio-alsa pasystraypulseaudio couldn't see my headset.
I asked on #archlinux, and someone kindly helped me discover that my /etc/asound.conf was abnormal, it only had 2 lines of text in it. I removed it and reinstalled pulseaudio-alsa and the file then generated correctly(according to this guy). After pulseaudio -k and pulseaudio --start, the problem persisted.
I am at a loss of what to do now. I would give you relevant config files/command outputs, but I know nothing about sound drivers/backends on linux and so will run whatever you ask.
Thanks
Solution: Took me all of 5 minutes to get an identical headset working on my brothers arch linux install(also new). Thought through the differences of our computers, his doesn't have usb3. Moved my headset to a usb2 port, and voila everything worked. I can investigate into why usb3 didn't work another day I guess.
