@graysky linux-ck-sandybridge-3.8.7-1 works. Thanks. Sorry for not replying earlier but I didn't have access to the offending computer.
Not sure what to say; I run the ck-sandybridge packages on my workstation at work and it boots without an issue (grub).
It was working on my workstation too.
I can't believe that that matters to the boot loader. You got me stumped.
I don't think the problem was the bootloader, rather the kernel not loading properly.

I love your avatar. What is it! What do you mean by systemd --user sessions?
That's a long horned cow-fish I used to have.
I think wonder woofy covered what I mean by --user sessions...

Just wanted to let repo users know that 3.8.11-1 was built hours ago but there are issues with godaddy's servers; I am only able to upload @ 10-90 kB/s it seems and am pushing the packages as fast as they are receiving them. I have just under 200 MB to go. <sarcasm>Plz be patient while their attack team of techs fixes the problems.</sarcasm >
EDIT: Packages online now.

I was unable to load the vboxnetflt module using the ck-sandybridge 3.8.12 kernel and the latest sandybridge-ck virtualbox modules.
Building the modules using dkms works, so maybe the virtualbox-ck packages needs rebuild against latest kernel?

Could that module problem be related to this news:

I just rebuild them as a precaution. I tested the i686 generic modules and found that I could probe them without error and the same was true for x86_64 generic. Anyway, they are rebuilt against 3.8.12 now. I have not rebuild the nvidia or nvidia-304xx modules as they both appear to be working for me. Anyone with problems there?

It is working for me after the rebuild (virtualbox-ck-host-modules-sandybridge 4.2.12-3)

Glad to hear it.

Is nvidia going to get an update soon? nvidia-ck-sandybridge: requires nvidia-utils=313.30
Edit: Ignore the above I just noticed 319 is still in testing
Also have you had any luck building with 3.9. I can see there is some patching floating around, may give it a go this afternoon.

It's not a joke, I just find it funny, although a bit verbose.
It was definitely something I didn't expect and it made me smile :-)

Glad I could bring a smile to your face; only repo-ck users get to see it. Check the post_upgrade function in linux-ck.install.

There is any reason why linux-ck-core2 isn't on the repository? At least is not here http://repo-ck.com/x86_64.htm : p

Must have failed the sha256sum check after it got uploaded. Rebuilt and published now. Thanks for letting me know.

I love these kernels, Greysky. Thank you so much for continuing to build them. Every arch install I do, the FIRST thing I do is upgrade to the linux-ck kernel. My system is so much more responsive under load than the standard kernel. I do audio/video editing, so it's nice that my system doesn't grind to a halt when it's reading a 10gb file.
Keep up the great work and know that I appreciate what you're doing here.

Thanks for all the great work on these kernels (my netbook is actually usable now!) could we get an updated build for the nvidia-ck-* packages in light of the nvidia-utils update in extra?
Thanks again!

Yeah all pacman Syus are suspended as we are now in dependency hell
:: nvidia-ck-ivybridge: requires nvidia-utils=319.17 CK is the prime champ CPU though so i really hope this gets fixed ...For some reason mainline kernel wont hit my OC profile...

Updated. I can't always be near my PC when upstream pushes an update. I try to keep on it but have outside obligations. Anyway, enjoy 319.17.

Can you please add r8168-ck to the repo? the r8169 driver that comes with the kernel is horrible for me.
Use the Source, Luke!
