Forum search is broken

Right now when I try and search the forums I get this:

Could not delete old search id sessions

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1016 Can't open file: 'phpbb_search_results.MYI' (errno: 145)

DELETE FROM phpbb_search_results WHERE session_id NOT IN ([a long list of session ids])

Line : 663
File : search.php

Someone may want to fix that  smile

Re: Forum search is broken

Lots of websites/forums can be searched using Google, with a search request something like this:

site:archlinux.org conky

Don't know why our forums don't show up in the Google search.  It would be a good way to do some searching while we await the fix for our own search feature.

I expect it's not that type of search that is bothering many users. Surely the first thing many users wish to do is log in and see what messages are new. Without the new post search, finding this out the manual way is tedious to say the least.

Re: Forum search is broken

Hey, I tired to search google for this error and it seems that it's connected with mysql user permissions or something like this. The "funny" thing is if I ask google about the error like this and try to click next page (second) google says:

We're sorry...

... but we can't process your request right now. A computer virus or spyware application is sending us automated requests, and it appears that your computer or network has been infected.

We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your computer is free of viruses and other spurious software.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we'll see you again on Google.

:-) Of course I can use google for other searches without any problems so I guess the problem might be more complicated. It's annoying but you can still see the new posts as yellow (orange?) icons if you click forums one by one.

Re: Forum search is broken

I'm getting an error not only for searches, but also when I log in and try to read posts since my last visit, etc.  I guess that's probably based off of a search, but all of those options are not working...

I don't think dibble has permissions to mess with it.
Has anyone contacted apeiro?

Hmm... I don't suppose it would really surprise anyone if I said it doesn't work for me either, so I won't say it.    tongue

Re: Forum search is broken

$25 says the next 3 posts are "yup doesn't work here either" - as if the client being used effects the execution of php in some way.
