Hi all,
I just got a new Sony Vaio SVT1113C5E and after installing Arch, the whole thing works fine apart from the touchpad, which is sensitive also in the buttons' area, so that it's very hard to click without the pointer moving to another place (which makes double clicking even more harder). It wan't like that in the Windows I just deleted.
Has anyone had this issue and come up with a solution? I.e. disabling the sensitivity on the buttons?
All the best,
Olaf

See the synaptics man page. Specifically the part about "SoftButtonAreas". I should mention that at first it is a bit confusing, as you don't use "synaptics" as the command to change all these parameters. You actually use "synclient". To see a list of currently set synaptics parameters, use "synclient -l".
I take it from your mention of "button areas" that you have a clickpad, that is a touchpad with no physically separate buttons. Make sure the clickpad option is set to '1'.
