Hello,
I've bought a cheap DVR, similiar to famous EasyCap (but based on some other chipset).
The hardware is not faulty and runs fine under Windows.
As far as I know the module for original EasyCap is already in kernel, but it doesn't work with my device.
lsusb shows this:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 1b71:3002
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 13ee:0003 MosArt Optical Mouse
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 006 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 007 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
I only have usb mouse plugged in at the moment, which means that DVR is Bus 001.
There's no file named video0/1 etc. in /dev
Any suggestions? Booting into Windows just to use one piece of hardware is really annoying.

There is a very experimental (for testing purposes only) userspace driver for this device:
