Oracle 9i Installation Questions

Since I'm relatively new to Arch (but love it and have spread it around to a few others) I figured I should ask this here..

I've seen a lack of posts concerning Oracle 9i but it's what I'm currently learning in school.  The instructor has said that we could install Oracle on our home system to do some of the examples over break.  (Of course, I h ave to sign a waiver and agreement that I will not use it externally.)

I'm just curious as to what people's experience with 9i have been so far, any advice would be helpful.  Much appreciated and thank you for your time.

if you can use 10.2 instead, perhaps this can help you

I was afraid of this unfortunately... but I did see this thread along with anything related to Oracle.  I do appreciate it never the less.
