I'm having a problem with my sound card when suspending the system to RAM.
The sound card is Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeMusic (PCI) using snd_ctxfi module, also using PulseAudio.
The problem is, whether I suspend using the kernel/systemd framework or using s2ram, everything is suspending as it should and also resuming, except that I have no sound.

Now after the machine resumes, snd_ctxfi is loaded according to lsmod, but the card doesn't show up on alsamixer and I have no sound.
So I tried:
pulseaudio -k # it is configured to NOT auto restart (verified with ps)
sudo modprobe -r snd_ctxfi # unloaded according to lsmod
sudo pm-suspend
Nothing is using the card right now, everything is closed except urxvt and now I get this:

And still, no sound until I reboot the machine.
I've been googling for hours with no luck. Also, tried it on Ubuntu-13.04 with latest updates, with the same result.
Note: I rebooted the machine between every suspend attempt.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks guys.

I'm experiencing the same issues with my X-Fi Titanium: No sound card after wakeup. And I also have this message:
ctxfi: pci_enable_device failed, disabling device
I saw you removed the kernel module with
sudo modprobe -r snd_ctxfi
so I did it as well, then it disappeared from lsmod as expected.
Then I added the module back and the card returned!
$ sudo modprobe snd_ctxfi
$ sudo aplay -l
