[Solved] WIFI always disconnects

I can set up a connection via "wifi-menu [interface name]" during the installation process, but it always disconnects after a few seconds to a minute.

"Netctl status [profile name]" throws a "leased [available ip] for [number] seconds" when successfully connecting and then just says "carrier lost".

Restarting the netctl profile (which is generated by wifi-menu) via "netctl stop [profile name]", then "netctl start [profile name]" works for a few seconds before the connection is lost again.

I've checked the netctl profile multiple times for typos, but couldn't find any. It looks just like the one I'm using on another PC.

Any ideas?

- Edit:
Tried it via WPA_Supplicant. No joy.

- Edit 2:
This is for the x64 version of the 20130601 installation media.

So far, I've followed the beginner's guide to the letter.

Re: [Solved] WIFI always disconnects

Power management not only ruins WIFI reception, but also an arch installation.

Before setting up wifi, do

iwconfig [interface] power off

then run wifi-menu, set everything up and kick back and relax.

Self-solved.

Re: [Solved] WIFI always disconnects

I think you should add a couple of things to this.  One, it would be good if you marked the thread as [Solved].  Second, I think it might help others if you indicated what kind of hardware you were having trouble with here.  I think giving the output of "lspci -nn | grep Net" would be sufficient.

Interestingly, I have never actually heard of a module loading itself with power savings on by default... I would certainly be interested in seenig what kind of hardware you've got in that machine.
