Your absense is notable in the Java vs Python thread.

If anyone gives a rat's ass, I've found these forums to be extremely helpful so far. But then again, I'm hard to offend. I've personally seen a great deal more newbie down-dressing on the LKF than I have here.

I think we do give a rat's ass, and those who contribute to this forums will be glad to hear that you have found them to be a useful resource. I certainly do.

Here, take this "rat's ass", it's a gift.
There, I gave one.
I know there are some people who can get offended at alot of things. When I help people, I try my best not to be snarky, but sometimes it can't be helped. I have 0 problem with newbies who are just lacking information (such as where a config file is, or how to do something), but when people are unable to help themselves, it's grating on the nerves. i.e.
"hey, it's in the man page, check there"
"yeah, but I figured someone here would give me the answer"

This reminds me of an old acronym we need to start throwing around here...

Problem is I never knew if it meant 'why would you ask' or 'who wipes your ass'. hard to say....

I find it kind of ironic that a post describing how our forums are going downhill has been hijacked, brought back on topic, and then hijacked again....

Sometimes, you have to go downhill to get to the next hill, but then up we go again. I like hills, but mountains are even better.
