Chromium MimeTypes under Gnome (and Magnet Links)

Whenever I download something from Chromium, no matter what type it is it always open Dolphin (default file manager) and then the appropiate application.
Example:
+ Download zip file in Chromium
+ Open zip file from chromium
+ Dolphin opens in this rute ~/Download/zipfile.zip (obviously shows an empty directory since it is not a directory)
+ Ark opens showin the zipfile.zip content

I want to skip the part where it opens Dolphin and directly open the file in ark.
This issue also applies for PDF, MP4, XIP/RAR/GZ

Also I patched my /usr/bin/xdg-open with this to be able to use magnet links:

elif (echo "$1" | grep -q '^magnet:'); then
        ktorrent "$1"
        if [ $? -eq 0 ]; then
            exit_success
        fi
    fi

I am able to open magnet links, but they are opened in Transmission-GTK instead of KTorrent, how can I set the default application?

THANK U smile

You should be able to set it in ~/.local/share/applications/defaults.list.

Great things come in tar.xz packages.

Is KTorrent currently installed?

Looking at your own mimeapps.list file you might have more success with the command "kde4-ktorrent" Looks like your mimeapps is falling back to transmission-gtk as it is unable to start/find "ktorrent".

Re: Chromium MimeTypes under Gnome (and Magnet Links)

You were actually right!
SO magnet links are working but why does it open the file manager before the appropieate application for all other types??
