Creating subdirs in /run/

Trying to adapt custome build of proftpd to archlinux. Most off all build files are taken from AUR. After installation there is no directory /run/proftpd and because of this proftpd can not start. After creating directory /run/proftpd all is fine but /run is the tmpfs (!). Who will create subdir for proftpd after reboot ?

What is the right way to create directories in /run ?

Ok, thanks.

Does the tmpfile.d creates /run/* only on boot time (once) or does it looks for new dirs every time when an service is started ?

I did not tried to reboot the server but after installing new package with correct /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/proftpd.conf directory /run/proftpd was not created while starting proftpd via systemctl.

Re: Creating subdirs in /run/

It will create it at boot.

However to do it on a package install check out this example https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit … ansmission
