[SOLVED] Roll back to single boot!

Hi all
I want to know something.
How could I delete Arch EFISTUB (rEFInd) if I want to roll back to Windows own boot loader? (It means that if I want to just have Windows on my EFI notebook)

Re: [SOLVED] Roll back to single boot!

I imagine that you could use efibootmgr to set the Windows boot loader to the default.

Sakura:-
Mobo: MSI MAG X570S TORPEDO MAX // Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @4.9GHz // GFX: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT // RAM: 32GB (4x 8GB) Corsair DDR4 (@ 3000MHz) // Storage: 1x 3TB HDD, 6x 1TB SSD, 2x 120GB SSD, 1x 275GB M2 SSD

Making lemonade from lemons since 2015.

Re: [SOLVED] Roll back to single boot!

1) Remove rEFInd

2)

$ man efibootmgr

EDIT: Of course, if you already removed Arch without thinking about it, then you'd have to see if your machine's firmware setup menu will let you remove the entry for Arch.   Or you could figure out how Windows handles it.  Or any number of ways; it's a FAT32 partition, you could just as well use any LiveCD to mount the partition and delete the EFI files manually.

Re: [SOLVED] Roll back to single boot!

The title would suggest you want to wipe out Arch Linux, but the question seems to indicate you just want to make the windows bootloader have priority.  If it is the second case, you can either use your firmware/bios to make the windows efi application in the ESP the default, or you could also use efibootmgr as suggested above.

If you want to wipe Arch Linux off your drive, it would be as simple as using gdisk (or whatever windows uses) to wipe out the partition, and extending the windows partition to span the rest of the disk.

Hey friend
I've read your suggestions, thank you for that.
I mean I want to wipe Arch and make windows my default boot and after that no boot menu appears. Like before install Arch...

Re: [SOLVED] Roll back to single boot!

Just change the bios boot priority order.  Theoretically you should still have a windows entry in your firmware's boot manager, since nowhere areound here are there instuctions that tell you to remove it when settnig up UEFI.  So check to see what is there with efibootmgr, and then change the priority... seems pretty striaght forward to me.
