Creative MP3Player and Nautilus

I have a Creative ZEN nano mp3 player. Im using Xfce4 and Nautilus file manager . Nautilus can't mount the player correctly. It tries to mount it as /dev/sda . Manually mounting the player as /dev/sda1 works. Where is that automounting configured ? I have tried to look udev rules  , hal settings etc . I find this  very confusing and  i haven't found any good documentation how  udev, hal, hotplug (don't we need it anymore),pmount and volume managers  should work . Some time ago i had Ubuntu installed at another partition and there wasn't any problems with automounting.
One other thing i would like to know , how could you specify where all devices are mounted ( i mean /media/usbdisk for example, if you don't have them in fstab) .  I think   GNOME  is poorly documented , or maybe i don't find it?
