I've tried now, both in Mepis/KDE 3.4.2 and with the Arch/KDE 3.5, to build the Application manual index in the KDE help center, but whatever I do, I get this error message:
INDEXDIR: /home/eyolf/.kde/share/apps/khelpcenter/index/
FINDCMD: find /opt/kde/share/doc/HTML/en/ -name index.docbook
Creating index for 'kde_application_manuals'
htdig failedAm I doing something wrong, or is it a bug? I've seen it mentioned in some debian forums too, so at least I'm not the only one with the problem.

Just stubled over the same problem. How comes, that this issue is still not solved? There is only /opt/kde/bin/khc_htdig.pl present, but that's not what the index tool is looking for.

Are you sure? Can it be, that htdig is part of another package? If trying to create the application manual search index, when opening the help center, it seems to be doing it (goes to 100% and says "close"), but if you click on "details", is shows the above output with "htdig failed".

Probably a little late, but I just ran into this problem and got one step further.
You have to get htdig from AUR (add arch=(x86_64) if on 64 bit), makepkg and install it.
After this, you can build the search index, worked without warnings for me.
Now I tried searching.
What I get after searching for something is a page that says "search results for 'yourterm':"
and then goes on with the khc_htsearch.pl commandline used for the search. This is not what I expected.
Do you have similar problems?
