guayadeque -- How install w/o "gstreamer install.. is missing a plugin

Hi,

I'm just running arch with slim and awesome wm (no desktop environment, thank you).

My primary question is, how do I get guayadeque to install so that when I go to play a song, I do not get an error that says "your gstreamer installation is missing a plugin"?

(I also installed gnome-media, plus gstreamer-base, gstreamer plugins good, bad, ugly)

Secondary question:  Is there something I should know about installing programs to my arch/awesome wm when those programs are intended for gnome or KDE?  Should I always go with gnome programs, always KDE or does it not matter?  Should I avoid both?  etc. etc.

Thank you.
