CUPS without HAL

My Canon PIXMA MP150 won't print after I uninstalled hal. It return error: File "/usr/libs/cups/backend/hal" not available: No such file or directory. Is it possible to make cups work without hal?

Re: CUPS without HAL

CUPS doesn't need HAL and hasn't for some time - in fact I don't think HAL even exists in the repos any more (I haven't had it on my system for ages).
What version of CUPS are you using?

Re: CUPS without HAL

You might just need to reinstall the printer.
This package provides a driver for your printer, if you don't have it already: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extr … utenprint/
