Banshee exits on start with dbus-related error

Here's what I get when I try to start Banshee:

Unhandled Exception: DBus.DBusException: Unable to determine the address of the message bus

And of course the damned thing refuses to start at all. Has anyone else observed this bug?

Re: Banshee exits on start with dbus-related error

Had the same problem. The trick is to run Banshee using dbus-launch:

dbus-launch banshee

Or whatever the binary was called, maybe you even have to specify the full path to the Banshee-binary.

Re: Banshee exits on start with dbus-related error

Causes it to "quit unexpectedly" (i.e. crash roll ) with the typical vague GUI message and this console output:

"Fatal error in the mono runtime"... Hmm. Has anyone gotten stuff like this in other Mono apps since Mono was moved to /usr?

Re: Banshee exits on start with dbus-related error

Yes I've been getting all kinds of funky mono stuff. I thought it was specific to monodevelop when I first tried to install that but it seems I get weird errors with every mono app. I've tried filing a bug report for monodevelop to no avail. I'm not exactly sure what to report for the general behavior of the errors so if anyone is more technically inclined and would be able to calculate the issue better would they please post a bug report?

Just filed a bug report, expand what I have further or confirm it if you can:
