I'm having a strange problem with yaourt. It won't do pretty much anything. It won't install anything, it won't show anything when -Suy. The only thing it will do is -S <name>.
Anyways, pacman is working just fine. I tried reinstalling both (and their dependencies) and nothing got fixed.
Any idea what could it be?

Yes, excuse me, -Syu. That was just a typo in my post. The problem is there.
Also, Is this normal? pacman -S sudo <----- it says that it's already installed, but I tell it to reinstall. Then it says that it can't install it because files in filesystem already exist. Ok, pacman -R sudo. pacman -S sudo <---- fails again because of files already in filesystem. Doesn't pacman -R removes files?
I'm starting to think this is some kind of system breakage or a corrupt FS. Could it be?

Do you get any output when running "pacman -R sudo"?

I did a pacman -S --force sudo and now it works (or it seems so). Why did that happened? Is that a sign of a corrupt FS?

What files did it say existed in the filesystem? What was the result of pacman -Qo on those files? To late now I suppose to answer that.

All the files that belong to the sudo package were conflicting with the pacman -S sudo command. I didn't thought on running -Qo on the files, sorry. Will do next time I get in a such situation.

*all* of them, or just the ones in /usr/ and /usr/lib/? Did the list of files span more than one screen (130 lines), or did they fit on one screen (11 lines)?

Yaourt is not an official package. Moving to AUR issues.
