Kernel 3.9.9 and 3.10 - Slow network, forcedeth kernel module lock up

Hi all,

I updated for the first time in ~60 days uptime (I did the /usr migration without a hitch) and now I am running in a frustrating problem with my network...

When I start a large copy (using gigabit) the transfer starts off at ~ 3MB/s then slowly drops until it stalls.   I get this in my dmesg:

[49257.355089] forcedeth 0000:00:12.0 eth1: Got tx_timeout. irq status: 00000020
[49257.665732] forcedeth 0000:00:12.0 eth1: nv_stop_tx: TransmitterStatus remained busy

I looked up this error and most references I have found date back to 2008 - 2010.

Does this seem like a kernel bug, or is it more likely I have something configured wrong?

Thanks,
Sam
