I've tried connecting to steam through the native linux client and also via WINE and they either come up in offline mode or won't allow me to login because it cannot contact servers. I'm not running any firewalls and my roommate running steam on windows isn't having any issues. I've tried reinstalling and blowing out ~/.steam and ~/.local/share/Steam folders to no avail.
I had steam on WINE working in the past but it's been a few months since I've touched it so a lot has changed since then. Any suggestions on what to look at next? I'm all out of ideas.
EDIT: I've got a netbook that I installed steam on and it connects no problem so we can rule out any network issues. I'm not running iptables or anything, what's going on?!

My first guess was because this week is the Steam summer sale, but I guess connecting via the other computer rules that out. ![]()
