No entries in /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0 ?

I'm running the latest stock kernel 2.6.14.4 with a Sempron 2600+. I don't get any information in the sys directory mentioned above for my cpu. Anybody else have this problem?

I believe that cpufreq is compiled into the stock kernel and so there should be an entry for that under the directory mentioned?

I've been trying to get cpu freq setting to work without success. I'm unable to modprobe the powernow-k8 module or to run cpufreq-set because I'm getting a message about an unknown or unsupported cpu.

Any help would be appreciated - thanks.

I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts...

You need to modprobe the proper cpufreq_* module to get that information.
It is not built into the stock kernel.
