can xine play xvid?

Alrighty. Xine, my video software of choice, comes up with an unsupported codec error when trying to play xvid encoded clips. Though I have seen a few posts about the place saying that xine supports it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of getting xine to play xvid clips? Or even put me out of my misery and tell me that xine just won't ever play xvid clips due to some, you know, thing, issue, thing.

And sorry, no offence but I would rather not use mplayer.

yes it can...you have to download the xvidcore package...pacman -S xvidcore

Downgraded to xine-lib-1.1.1-1, all is now well, cheers.

Note to self: resist the urge to post when the elapsed time since waking up is > 24 hours.
