acer aspire 1300 special keys

My laptop is an acer aspire 1300.

I don't know how make working some special keys like www, email, mute/unmute audio, low and high audio.

I've looked at acerhk, but it makes working only p1 and p2 buttons.

www, email and audio buttons not working (kernel do not receive them signal)

how can i do? (ubuntu live make them working)

What's that app called?

(quick search .... google .... arch packages .... )

Oh yeah  - lineakd.

Never used it myself, but maybe it will do something for you?

Re: acer aspire 1300 special keys

Nah, acer does dodgy things with their keys, and if acerhk doesnt do it for you, try some of the other hotkey drivers for other vendors laptops.

From the sounds of things, acerhk is your best bet, even though it only gives you p1 and p2.

Re: acer aspire 1300 special keys

the fact is that acerhk, make nothing. The kernel receive anyway keypressed signal from p1 and p2.

What about other laptop drivers?

i've found the solution (low level and explainations of how it works): http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Use_Multimedia_Keys

lineakd is a good way to make this, thanks smile

Re: acer aspire 1300 special keys

Lineakd wasn't always stable on my box with xfce4. I'd recommend xbindkeys - very simple, very stable.
