Is it possible to have install Arch in a logical LVM partition without having /boot outside LVM?

I'm not sure about Arch specifically, but it's theoretically possible to do this if you use GRUB 2 as your boot loader. I've never tried it (with any distribution), though, and as it locks you into GRUB 2 as your boot loader, I don't recommend it.

/boot must exist outside of the LVM configuration otherwise the system will not boot

No.
/boot must exist outside of the LVM configuration, when not using grub, otherwise the system will not boot
Fixed. It works with grub2. I have such a setup at the moment. Although, yep, you are locked into using Grub2 (had no choice since I wanted to move Windows to my ssd, and since Windows cannot be booted from a secondary/logical mbr partition, I had to delete the previous Linux boot partition and move it into the rest of the LVM).
