Evolution: Get folders from webmail account

I am using Evolution as my default email client so I have configured it to receive my emails from a webmail account using POP and leaving messages on the server. From my webmail account I have created some folders in order to organize my emails appropriately but from evolution, I am not getting those folders. Also when I delete messages from evolution they are not deleted from the server and I would like they will be deleted from server as well. How to do this?

Re: Evolution: Get folders from webmail account

If you configured your system to use POP, it is no surprise that it is not deleting the messages from the server.  This is how POP3 is meant to work.  If you want synchronization in both directions, you need to configure IMAP.

As for the folders from your webmail account, I have no idea.  I think it might depend on the mail client as well as what mail service you are using.  I am not an email expert though, so maybe someone else might know the answer to this.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I don't think POP3 supports folders. You'll need to use IMAP.

You are right, IMAP should be used in order to support folders. I have changed it to IMAP and now I get the folders mapped in the webmail. The problem now is that those folders are empty. Why?

It's hard to say without knowing what mail client and webmail service you're using...

For sending/receiving the security is set to SSL in a dedicated port 465 and 993 respectively.

Authentication:
For sending: session
For receiving: password setting

For sending, server requires authentication.

The webmail is a Lotus Notes.

Which kind of information do you need?

It is working perfectly with thunderbird with the same configuration, why not in evolution?
