Well then, looks like this issue has fixed itself for me with 3.10.3-1 dropping into [core].
Jasonwyran, are things working for you? If so, I'll likely mark the topic as Solved.

Yep: 3.10.3 works without issue.

Sorry for nobish question, but i'm still learning the Arch way. You updated this with pacman switches (sudo pacman -Syuu), and you found trouble with upgrading. How would you try to revert back changes, for old kernel version or how you upgraded it again to a much newer version than the one that caused problems?

/var/cache/pacman/pkg contains older packages until you deleted them.
# pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/package.pkg.tar.xz

CPU-optimized Linux-ck packages @ Repo-ck • AUR packages • Zsh and other configs

sudo pacman -Syuu
Just for the record, no. A standard full-system upgrade is performed using the following:
# pacman -Syu
The extra 'u' is not needed (and probably not wanted) in most cases.

# pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/package.pkg.tar.xz
So, i think that the safest way is to not delete it.

You can use paccache to selectively clean your cache and only remove the oldest $n packages (default is 3).

This installation was so new and syslinux demanded that I have a separate /boot partition that I didn't have my /boot entry in /etc/fstab.
I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...
Look ma, no mouse.

Well, it looks like this issue has cropped up for me again with 3.10.8. Does anyone have an idea of why this is happening?
[Edit]: Problem gone again with 3.10.9…
