Hi,
I'm running gnome-shell 3.8.4 and Slim and I have to unlock manually gnome keyring at each startup. I modified /etc/pam.d/slim and /etc/pam.d/passwd as mentioned in the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sl … me_Keyring
I bet i'm missing something important here. The wiki mentions "After editing the above files, you need to edit /etc/inittab" but I don't have that file and, even if I create it, I don't know what to put inside.
Has someone managed to do that? Is there anything I should check?
Thank you!

What is the value of auto_login in your /etc/slim.conf? I think it must be set to "no" to unlock the keyring, but I am not sure.

Yes the auto login is enabled. Do you think I can't keep the auto login in that case?

the keyring requires a password. The autologin does not need a password, so it cannot unlock the key database.

It makes sense now that you mention it. I guess the only solution is to switch to gdm then.
Thank you!
