Include Scramdisk on Encryption wiki

Hi!

Arch wiki on encryption comparison is one of the best pages I have seen smile

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Di … ison_table

So, we have Truecrypt in one of the column, which is not FLOSS. Why can't we include Scramdisk, this is a alternative for Truecrypt under GPL.

Or, we can just add that as an alternative in the column.
IMO users should be made aware of possible alternatives wherever possible.
What say you?

http://sd4l.sourceforge.net/

Thanks for the wonderful page.

Regards,
Zfs

Of course, the answer to your question is a simple one. The ArchWiki is a Wiki. So, "we" can include Scramdisk. If you feel like it should be added, why not add it? Of course, we don't actually have and sd4l package in either the repos or the AUR at the moment, and it's a bit of a pain to build from source.

All the best,

Re: Include Scramdisk on Encryption wiki

Thanks for the reply.

I did check whether it was there in the repo. Had seen the wiki page long back and came across it today.

The problem is, I am new to  editing wiki pages and couldn't do it, Hence Posted it thinking someone might add it.
Is there a simple wysiwyg editor for wiki pages?

Not really (not that I'm aware of anyway). But besides, wysiwyg is not really Arch-style. There is, however, a very helpful "help" button when editing arch wiki posts that helps you figure out all the formatting smile

But again, might not be worth adding it until there's a package for Arch. And, when building from source, it looks like it requires the kernel source to be present, which is kind of a pain, so whatever package is made might need to come from the rpm/deb official packages.

All the best,
