Problems copying files from DVD

I have the following problem as of lately: I'm running KDE 3.5 and Xorg from testing and when I mount a DVD and try to copy files from it it stalls. From console I can copy the files but sometimes it just hangs there and I can't even kill the cp process. Very annoying considering I have to restart my session to be even able to eject the medium.

Note that files files run okay from the DVD itself.

Just your basic anime otaku some might even call nijikon.

Re: Problems copying files from DVD

Perhaps your DVD is phyically altered.

You could also try to make an iso of the dvd and mount it from the hd.

cat /dev/dvd > /some/mount/point/mydvd.iso
