floppy mounting problems with kernel 3.10

Ok, so I know I'm ancient and nobody uses floppy drives anymore but it's worked fine until now. I seem to be able to mount and umount the floppy once and then if I try to mount it again, it activates the floppy and the light goes on and off on the floppy and it just hangs and doesn't go back to my prompt on the terminal. Downgrading to kernel 3.9.9-1 solves the problem. I thought the upgrade to kernel 3.10.3-1 from 3.10-2.1, today, might help but still same problem. edit: i686 install BTW.

Also, if I try to shutdown after the floppy gets hung, it seems to stall on the supposedly harmless systemd-cgroup-agent can't connect to dbus warning and I have to use the reset button on the desktop to reboot. Anyone else seen this sort of behavior. Bug report?

Filed a bug report #36485 but was told to report upstream, as I thought I might have to. Filed on kernel bug tracker https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60729 Now I'll see if there's any urgency to fix something as ancient as a floppy drive module problem.
