Setting up Linux 3.11 + RadeonSI w/ DPM

I'm running a laptop with a RadeonSI card (7970M) and I'm attempting to get it configured with the latest radeon foss driver, and I'm not having the greatest luck. I think a part of the issue is that I've got a kind of tenuous grasp on how the entire FOSS radeon system works, since it's a collection of several different parts. That said, here's what I've installed:

So I have a few questions; I'll just list them, since I can't think of sufficient order:

* Do I need to have the git version of xf86-video-intel? I noticed that the git version tried to replace the radeonsi driver

* Additionally, is there a preferred package to install to get the latest radeon changes?

* When I try to use the dedicated card exclusively using vgaswitcheroo ( echo DIS > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch) it blacks my screen. The system is still responsive (I can blindly echo IDG to get it back) but even without X I get a black screen. Is there a way around this, or have I misconfigured something?

* Attempting to use PRIME offloading causes my X session to crash. I've seen that this is rather common, but is there any way around this? Or would I be better off trying to get my computer to use the radeon module exclusively, from the above point?

The only variable I'm passing to the kernel at boot is radeon.dpm=1 and I have no modules blacklisted.

Again, I apologize if these are pretty rudamentary questions, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the radeon module as I've always used proprietary before. Thanks!

EDIT: Apparently I just needed to install xf86-video-ati-glamor-git 1:20120730-1, however now I'm just getting a black screen whenever I try to offload things with DRI_PRIME=1

At least X isn't crashing.
