Irssi and .packlist files

I want to ask about these files:

pacman -Ql irssi|grep pack

Are the needed? What's inside them? Path to directory where irssi was build. But what for?

Hmmm, .packlist files are just a perl thing - it's a file of all the files that perl built/installed/whatever.  They're not needed, and I usually remove them whenever I notice them.  However, it couldn't hurt anything, as far as I know.

Yeah, there's some inconsistency there. I did some PKGBUILDS for perl stuff a while ago, and looked at some the current/extra perl ones for guidance. Some of them rm the .packlist, others don't. I rm'd - the less files to install, the better.
