Hi everybody,
after installing the new nvidia-driver, my backlight dimming doesn't work anymore. I had to roll back to 319.32 to make it work again.
Anybody else experiencing this?
My Laptop:
Model: Vostro 3300
GPU: Geforce 310M
Kernel: 3.10.5-1-ARCH

Yes, I have noticed the same after upgrading to 325.15.
Backlight dimming from within E17 does not work anymore.
Another phenomena is that "tooltips" (in e.g. for networkmanager and nvidia tools) shows up as black on black.
Same deal with xfce4-terminal as a whole.
Tested rolling back to 319.32 and all works fine again. But this is obviously not a good solution so I'm up on 325.15-2 again.
Toshiba Satellite L750
Geforce 525M
Kernel 3.10.6-2
WM Enlightenment
(The special keys for backlight has never worked but that's a different problem not related).

No Problems here (GeForce 540M).
@TheSgtBilko: have you tried to set
Option "RegistryDwords" "EnableBrightnessControl=1"in your xorg.conf?

Tried that a few versions ago but no luck with "special keys". As long as I can use slider in widget, I'm happy
But as said, that and a few other issues are at hand with 325.15.
The 325.15 driver is not offered on NVidias regurlar download anymore (they still show up on their ftp though)
Hmmmm ....

Same issue here after upgrading to nvidia 325.15-3 using e17. Terminator and the "tooltips" show up black.
Disabling "texture from pixmap" in the advanced compositing looks of e17 settings menu solves this.
But it makes e17 windows not redraw correctly unless moved/resized at least once, which is cumbersome for those windows you cannot move/resize like the switchers.

I installed XFCE4 for reference. Tooltips and terminal work properly there, so that seems to be an E17 issue.
Btw - theres a new version of E17 (1.7.8) out since August 2nd. Would be nice with some love in the package repo.
However the backlight dimming function within WM that got fixed somewhere after 304 drivers are broken again in 325.15 drivers (in XFCE as well as in E17).
