stop discrete graphics card

Hi
I have HP G6-2298SE laptop with arch linux installed. This laptop has dual graphics card:
(i) Intel
(ii) ATI Radeon
I was trying to stop ATI graphics card. I have created /etc/modprobe.d/radeon.conf
and put "blacklist radeon" in it.
How can I confirm that the discrete graphics card (ATI) is stopeed?

If you want to power off the ATI, you could simply use something like vgaswitcheroo.
