Hello,
Today I update kontact (kmail) to 4.11
KMail don't work as usual, it's too slow. Several minutes since i pressed send button until it appear in outgoing folder.
The receive is as slow as sending. I use IMAP, and can spend 10 minutes since i select a simple text mail until it appear in the preview.
After some times i select several mails, kmail seem freezed and i must to kill the process and run again.
I don't think there is an akonadi problem, because i disable it, but the problem still here.
What can i do or test to solve that.
Thank you

Yes. I made an update today and at this time i am up to date.
After a reboot of the system, my mail accounts keep as slow as before.
Internet is fast to download files and to load web pages.
But i selected a text mail five minutes ago and just now I can read it.

I suspect that your problem may be with conflicting configuration files (hidden .*** files in /home/user) when you upgraded KDE to 4.11.
Depending on your knowledge of the KDE desktop, may I suggest either delete/move all your configuration files for kdepim & akonadi or restart with a vanilla desktop by deleting/moving all your configuration files from your home.
My preference is going back to a vanilla desktop. When these sort of issues arise because of an upgrade to KDE more time can be wasted attempting to finding & correcting the conflicting configuration files than simply restarting with a vanilla desktop.
Of course doing a full backup including all your saved emails in your local folders, kaddressbook & korganizer before you start is a must.

yeah theres probably something wrong with your configs....
in the meantime may I recommend Thunderbird only IMAP need be configured in your client
and your server no POP3. also please mark solved if youre done with this...

Problems in the configuration were my first guess too, but I could not solve a similar problem with deleting the configuration. Please note that in my case it seems to be that Akonadi / Nepomuk is the culprit, since I got kmail to have normal response times for a short period when I had Nepomuk deactivated.
Have a look at my full post here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1315769

to be honest I disabled Nepomuk a long time ago I didnt need it and virtuoso -t was eating up my cycles
if you dont need it (do you?) zonk it ...un click it in settings/DesktopSearch

Thank you all
For now I installed thunderbird and configured all email accounts.
I suspect the problem is not kmail, but the emails stored locally by using pop3 in an account that does not support imap as the others.
I Could delete everything and set it up again, but I do not like having to do it every time kmail or akonadi are updated.
I'll try to find where the emails are stored and I will move away, so I have a backup while I check if it is the cause of the problem.
Tell you soon.

I stopped akonadi service .
I saved all the mail in ~/.local/share/local-mail/ by move local-mail to other folder.
I restart akonadi service and kontact and all working well.
Some error from folders missing, but nothing more.
So... The update makes me lost my mails?
I worry about that.

I noticed that dragging mail from my "inbox" folder to "All Mail" folder made it appear as if I lost all my "All Mail" mail. To make the mail re-appear, I have to restart KMail and open All Mail first before moving any mail into it.
