[SOLVED] Booting EFI grub in bios mode

I have my mac set to boot up using refit, efi, and grub.

The problem is, there's driver issues causing my model of mac to work better when booted up in bios mode.

Is there a way to configure grub to boot into bios mode, or is it too late by the time its been launched by refit?

Otherwise I'll try installing grub to a partition, but setting some flag in the grub config would be so much cleaner smile

Thanks!

What operates better in BIOS mode, GRUB or the Mac? If it's the Mac, putting GRUB in BIOS mode won't do anything.

Re: [SOLVED] Booting EFI grub in bios mode

You need to re-install GRUB to use BIOS mode rather than EFI mode. I'm not sure offhand how to do this with Arch's packages. In some other systems, you'd remove the grub-efi package and install the grub-pc package, but it may work differently in Arch. Once this is done, rEFIt should show you a new option to boot in BIOS mode, which should launch GRUB.

There's only one package on Arch now - covers both modes.
