Hi everyone,
I just recently bought a t.bone SC 440 after reading a lot of very good reviews on the internet and hearing good original sound samples without much noise. Now, officially Linux isn't supported, but it worked right out of the box.
However, as the title says, there's quite a significant amount of noise and a quiet regular (~1.5 second delay) clicking / ticking. This doesn't change if I change the location of the mic, even covering it with blankets didn't change this in the slightest.
I'm wondering if it might be a driver / alsa / pulseaudio issue or something wrong with my sound card. I have read it's not uncommon for USB mics to have some noise, however the samples I heard were quite noise free without editing.
Any advice is greatly appreciated as I am completely new to this topic.
Yorrd
PS:
Lenovo G550 Laptop, t.bone SC 440 USB mic.
Arch Linux - Kernel 3.10, Alsa / pulseaudio both up to date

I have, but it seems audacity doesn't like it. The sound is played back waaaayyy too fast (only in Audacity) and CPU usage increases a lot. Also, that's only the smaller problem, if the noise was gone, I'd be happy with the crackling ![]()
Thanks though, man.
EDIT: For anyone coming here from Google, please try to increase your gain via "alsamixer" in your terminal. Select the microphone in the F6 menu and use the arrow keys. Works way better with a higher gain now.
