Recently I have issue with dropbox. Here is the screenshot of error message that I see:

And here is content of that /tmp/dropbox_errorD2LUKi.txt file:

Does anyone know what can be wrong and how I can fix it?

Re: Dropbox Permission Error

Please consult the wiki before asking on the forums. A quick google search led me to this. Try those solutions and if none of those work, then feel free to post what you tried and ask for some help.

Re: Dropbox Permission Error

I already tried those. I have correct permissions in both Dropbox and .dropbox directories.

It only started to happen to me after my recent update. And at first I saw it give some error messages about ibus when I tried to start it via terminal.

Re: Dropbox Permission Error

Oh sorry, please let us know what you have tried before. I noticed that the wiki says: This error could also be caused by /var being full. Try cleaning your Pacman cache (careful if you want to keep old packages for downgrading) and seeing if that changes anything. If that doesn't work, can you post what upgraded in the update that broke dropbox?

Re: Dropbox Permission Error

By the way, I can't view the screenshot you posted at all so I have no idea what the rest of your post is about.

But given the last line of what you posted from the error message, at0m5k's suggestion looks right. Indeed, I'd have expected that to be the first suggestion from the wiki you'd try given the error message.

If that doesn't work, in addition to what was update and what you tried, please tell us whether your system is up to date and which dropbox packages you are using and which versions.

Re: Dropbox Permission Error

@cfr, I think that the inability to view images might just be for you.  I saw you posted in another thread about not being able to view that networking diagram for the guy wanting to make a router.  I can see both of these just fine, and I don't think that they have been edited at all.

@OP, I have been through this before, but simply starting over let things et back to normal.  When you tried the first suggestion, did you delete only ~/.dropbox or did you also delete ~/Dropbox?  I had to delete both in order to make it work.  That way, I just reconfigured, and let it repopulate a newly created ~/Dropbox directory.

Re: Dropbox Permission Error

Hmmm... Interesting. I can see other images so why those I wonder? Will have to see... Thanks for the info.

EDIT: If I can find the image, I can manage to view it but finding it is the thing... all rather odd.

Re: Dropbox Permission Error

Interesting… I just rebooted (built a new kernel) and now it doesn't load.  Very curious.

Edit:…and its back.

Re: Dropbox Permission Error

I had the same problem,

sudo pacman -Sc

worked like a charm.

Re: Dropbox Permission Error

Almost full, there were a lot of old/obsolete packages.
