Scanner not showing in lsusb

Title says it all. I pluged in my scanner, Benq 3300U, and it doesn't even show up in lsusb. Checked the usb port and changed the cable, just in case, with no luck (port is ok, cable is ok). I am quite lost as what can I do next.

Re: Scanner not showing in lsusb

Did you update recently… possibly the kernel from 3.10.9 to 3.10.10?  If so, have you rebooted?  If you want to make sure your installed kernel and running kernel match, you can check with pacman -Q linux and uname -r respectively.

Yes to all: kernel was updated and I did reboot. Both pacman -Q linux and uname -r show 3.10.10-1

Re: Scanner not showing in lsusb

Just noticed this message at boot. I don't have any login manager, just type startx, but when I log in, this shows up:

usb 3-2: unable to read config index descriptor/start - 110
usb 3-2: can' t read configuration, error - 110
hub 3-0:1-0 : unable to enumerate USB device on port 2
