I'm using XFCE with Xscreensaver. The Xscreensaver version is the modified one from AUR, featuring the arch-logo. I'm having a 3 minutes timeout on the screensaver activating, the screen locks immediately after screensaver activation. The power saving features of the monitor (turn off monitor etc.) are handled by XFCE, rather than Xscreensaver.
When I'm playing the game Hedgewars, Xscreensaver starts up randomly during the game. The screen blanks out, and I have to type in the password to unlock the screen and return to the game.
Is there a way to either deactivate Xscreensaver while I'm playing Hedgewars, or make Xscreensaver notice that I'm pushing buttons and moving the mouse during the game, so it won't think the computer is idle and start the screensaver?

Since a screensaver should only activate when no activity is taking place, I believe you have encountered a bug.
Does this happen only with Hedgewars? or some other full screen program, or some other game as well?

It appears to only happen with Hedgewars. I've tested Dosbox, playing some dos games for about 20 minutes, and nothing happened.
EDIT:
Hmm, it happened under Dosbox now, too. And another thing I noticed, is when it happens under Hedgewars and Dosbox, a yellow text appears, that says that Xscreensaver couldn't grab my keyboard, because it's already grabbed.

You should first try the version from the "extra" repository. If you are able to reproduce the issue, then open a bug report on bugs.archlinux.org. Though, I believe it might be an upstream bug.

I've installed the version from the "extra" repository and the same thing happened.

Then you should open a bug report here: https://bugs.archlinux.org/
