Yeah sure! I will ask Manjaro specific questions on the Manjaro forums.
But I do follow the Arch Wiki when I am having problems with something, and its well documented here

I think most of the Linux community follows the Arch Wiki when they're having problems.

I know I'm getting serious when I start quoting it at Ubuntu users who want to try and do something which requires a more in depth knowledge of their system than what they already have.

Hey, I'm SilverOne , a computer engineering student with a growing passion towards open source. Unfortunately my switch has been painfully delayed because of poor displaylink and mac support namely gpu switching.

I once ran Ubuntu a few years ago, i still remember the old nuisances with multi desktop setups, which still plague me to this day.

What brought me to arch? Well, the wiki is nothing but spectacular and my intimacy - the love- with my os : my obsessive compulsive behavior to fine-tune os's. Turned out archs' installation was easier than expected, but took a while to get a comfortable seat.

hope to one day give back to the community, for now i'm just happy to see my distro hopping come to an end.

Hey, I'm CyberJack.

I'm a developer (php, python, java) and a fanatical Linux user since 2006.
At home and work I use Linux as main operating system.

On my home server I use ArchLinux (which I installed about a year ago).
Besides ArchLinux I use some other distro's on desktops and servers.

Hi all,
I'm using Linux for 3 or 4 years.
I like computers and programming. Tried the various distros Mint, Fedora, Ubuntu, Sabayon.
I've been messing with Gentoo and Arch for a while in Virtual Box and using the wiki's.
Finally got around to installing Arch on a Laptop
Just thought I would register to say Hello and thank the people who volunteer to maintain the Arch wiki.

I'm running under a derivated of Archlinux, a bit complicated for me at least for the moment. I'm aware that 's not his forum!!!!
Anyway, I'm happy to run on it and thanks to the work of Archlinux (and the Manjaro Team) and AUR, I could leave the Ubuntu world that I am on since I've discovered Linux in 2005.
I like Multimedia (conversion, TV, and Video Edition) and Photo (Gimp, Inkscape). I love too programming even I'm a beginner.

Have you tried to follow the Beginner's Guide?
It's very friendly towards new users and you can pretty much follow it top-to-bottom, skipping irrelevan sections to your HW and at the end you'll have a fully working Arch install.

I must said that no,not until the end. In fact, what I dislike in Arch ( I run into an issue when I've try it there are a while!) and I like in Manjaro is how to install it. How to said that, I 'm not sure about to use the good words (English is not my native language!). I don't like install an distribution in a pseudo console, I prefer to use Graphical installator. It is one reason why I 've tried Manjaro, the second reason is that this distribution have an active French forum. Until now, I've evolving in the Debian/Ubuntu distributions but now I am ready to try something more evolved, to improve my skills in the Linux system thanks to this distribution. Anyway, I love day after day this distribution and even I have yet some Ubuntu and Mint distributions on my several computers, I plan to replace them at middle term. And why not for one by Archlinux herself directly. I'm thinking that a good think that some more easiest distributions like Manjaro give the opportunity at people to approch this distribution.
It was just my two cents.

Hello World!

I'm Max, online handle GoDuck, and I'm a 1st year Physics major living in Argentina.I'm a long time Windows user and gamer but I've decided to abandon all that and invest in something a bit more entertaining, I've been using Linux for a full 2 days nows, still trying to polish up my build. I can't say the installation went smoothly but I will say I had more fun than I care to admit trying to get everything to work.

A short thanks to everyone involved in this wonderful experience, see you on the forums!

I tried saving my fun parameters and statistics to a log file but the file was so large I ran out of availabel disk space moments after starting into openbox.
Now I'm just trying to make everything look nice and install some basic applications, vlc was giving me issues with sound which I later fixed (though I'm not sure why what I did actually worked).

I've tried a few different Linux distros in the past, but primarily use Ubuntu. I want to try something different and learn more about how Linux actually works, so Arch seems like it could be fun.

Not new to Linux (I was using Slackware back in 1999) but new to Arch. I gotta say I am very impressed with the quality of the
documentation on the wiki. Managed to solve all of my configuration issues using the information to be found there.

Looking forward to using this as my main system from now on. I prefer to decide what apps get installed on my machine and
not have some arbitrary choices made for me. This is why I am liking Arch very much.

Now I use Arch since 3 months, both on laptop and desktop, and I am totally in love with it.

Also, the community is great, the wiki and this forum solved me countless issues already, I decided to be part of it!

Hello Universe!

I am slowly switching away from Mint to Arch.
Arch Linux is currently running in a vbox but I am planning to install to hardware soon.
I was worried some debian only packages won't work in Arch, but the AUR has me satisfied.
Seriously though guys, YOU ARE AN AWESOME COMMUNITY.
I just really wanna help. I'll probably try to add some stuff to the wiki which I found useful.

Overall, Arch looks like the distro to finish my distro hopping madness.

EDIT: There, made an addition to the wiki page about the AUR. Anyone correct me if my info is wrong
