Hi there,
I've been using Arch 64 bit for some time and I like it so far. Unfortunately I can't enjoy it as much I could because of an audio issue. English is not my native language so I apologize for any errors in my post.
I have constant static background noise when using headphones which I use most of the time instead of speakers. The soundcard is Auzentech Bravura PCI-E and this problem does not occur in Windows. The interesting thing is that when boot Arch, there is no noise. It starts as soon I open any application which uses sound, for example flash in Firefox or XMMS. I have found that the noise stops when I do "speaker-test -c 2" (it works fine) but it starts again when using any other sound source application. So the only way to stop the noise is using speaker-test or by rebooting.
I have tried to use my integrated soundcard and it works just fine. I've also tried to mute all unnecessary channels in Alsamixer with no help. Currently I have no configuration except:
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 2
}
ctl.!default {
type hw
card 2

Thanks for any help!
