I did a single redirect instead of double (>>) by a slip of the fingers, so I've lost bashrc... balls
I've got a terminal open that's using my original .bashrc, and I've recovered my aliases, PATH and MANPAGER variables... that's all I could think of. What else am I missing?

First, add "set -o noclobber" to bashrc, it will prevent that from happening again (it disallows > to work on files that already exist).
Secondly, try running "env", it should dump the whole environment

You're a legend, thanks man.
I'd just been looking at your config online before you posted to find what I was missing, and had a look at the `set' manpage to see what the noclobber was all about... that's VERY useful!
Thanks a lot phrak
EDIT: I've just seen your $PROMPT_COMMAND too... that variable's so useful! I've been running a 'urxvt -e screen' alias for ages, and it irritated me...
