KDE - selection start delay/drag & drop problem

After KDE 4.9 update to select I have to press mouse and hold it for 1,5 second and then I can select.

How to make this selection start delay shorter?

I've changed mouse settings in System Settings, but this hasn't worked for me.

Also there is the same delay for drag&drop

Googled for this and nothing...

Re: KDE - selection start delay/drag & drop problem

BUMP

Kde 4.11, bug still here... Has someone found a solution??

I'll try to give you more details...
The strange lag appears (at least for me) only using the touchpad (not using my portable mouse).
It appears only when I try to select some text keeping the left button of the touchpad pushed (not when I'm selecring with "double tap")

The strange thing is, when I reboot the problem vanishes, and after some minutes/hours the lag reappears, and I'm not able to link it with some kind of event. Nor dmesg nor log gave me some hint, probably because I don't know what to look for...

Please may anyone drive me to some kind of light?? :'(

Re: KDE - selection start delay/drag & drop problem

Same here. Just installed KDE after Gnome kept annoying me and now this.
Rebooting won't help a bit and it really pisses me off to no end.
Was that reported upstream already?

EDIT: According to the KDE guys it's a problem of the nvidia driver (Bug report) but since it took solid 4 years to answer that report, I don't know if I should believe that.
