Re: [SOLVED] Can't seem to get Pulseaudio to work

this can maybe help

pactl load-module module-equalizer-sink

Connection failure: Connection refused
pa_context_connect() failed: Connection refused

and

qpaeq

There was an error connecting to pulseaudio, please make sure you have the pulseaudio dbus and equalizer modules loaded, exiting...

How?  Without what you did this thread is not truly "solved" for future people who may chance upon it through search engines..

@lazarojhr16: Dude, thats rude. If you figured it out how to fix it, you gotta post it.
I came here looking for the answer, and since the thread was marked with "[SOLVED]" I was happy to found the solution... but it wasn't here sad

But! I figured it out too! yay!
So, nvm.

Just kidding!

SOLUTION:
After reinstalling pulseaudio, I got the following message:

>>> If you have per-user copies of configuration files (such as client.conf,
daemon.conf or default.pa) in ~/.pulse/, make sure you keep them in sync
with changes to the packaged files in /etc/pulse/. Otherwise, PulseAudio
may refuse to start due to configuration errors.

So, I just had to delete the .pulse directory on my home. Since I have pulseaudio-equalizer, I had to backup the ~/.pulse/equalizer* files first, restart pulseaudio with pulseaudio --start, and the cp those files back.

Thats it.

"open source is about choice"
No.
Open source is about opening the source code complying with this conditions, period. The ability to choose among several packages is just a nice side effect.

Re: [SOLVED] Can't seem to get Pulseaudio to work

sorry for closing the thread, but it was something dumb. I wrote module-equalazer-sink on the .conf file (don't remember which one) instead of module-equalizer-sink
