lxdm takes minutes to start

When I run "systemctl start lxdm" it takes several minutes to show the login window... where should I be looking? "journalctl -u lxdm.service" doesn't show anything relevant...

also "systemd-analyze plot" shows lxdm starts in a few milliseconds at boot... it still takes several minutes to show the login window

EDIT: just compiled lxdm-git from AUR and still same behaviour

did you try with anyother dm like gdm, lightdm?

no, I'll try later... actually lxdm was working fine until yesterday, but to my memory I haven't changed anything recently (did a system upgrade *after* this started happening, and I hadn't had an upgrade for some weeks so it wasn't that)

yes, lightdm starts instantly as supposed.

Here's my /var/log/lxdm.log... it hangs after the "JOYSTICK" line, and when it finally shows the login prompt it writes those last lines starting with "** Message:"

so, after long tests (and thanks to the guidance of dgod in the bug report) I now have a clue of what's going on. The hangup happens in between these two lines in Xorg.0.log:

[   574.266] (II) AIGLX: Suspending AIGLX clients for VT switch  #<--- it hangs here for ~2 minutes
[   695.552] (II) AIGLX: Resuming AIGLX clients after VT switch

and in the meantime this is happening in lxdm.log:

Loading extension GLX
(II) AIGLX: Suspending AIGLX clients for VT switch #<--- it hangs here for ~2 minutes
setversion 1.4 failed
(II) AIGLX: Suspending AIGLX clients for VT switch

so it would seem there's some problem switching consoles? I've searched for this "setversion 1.4 failed" error but couln't find much.

Maybe it's something related to my drivers? I'm using an intel gpu, and I have i915 in MODULES in mkinitcpio.conf, and no xorg.conf

When I have more time I'll try using a generic vga driver and see if that helps
