Feature proposal: autom. tick "subscribe" when creating new topic

Hi guys,

I'd like to propose to change the forum's software's settings, so that the box "subscribe to this topic" is automatically ticked when creating a new topic, as it can be assumed that someone creating a topic would also want to get notifications about it, can't it?

I myself tend to forget to tick this box, which is in so far inconvenient as I just see solutions delayed, because I forgot to tick the subscription-box, and as the helpers get delayed feedback in case I forget about that topic as I assume to get notified when something happens. I could imagine that there might be others out there having the same issue.

What do you think about this?

There's 'Automatically subscribe to every topic you post in.' setting in your forum profile, in the privacy tab.

This would be an upstream feature request. Currently, we can either enable or disable the ability to subscribe to topics, not set a default.

Ah, ok, it is set as a default on the archlinux.de-forums and I thought it was the same software. In this case I will stick to karol's advice (thanks for that!), which is sufficient for my needs.
