Sound Problem on Laptop (Back Again) [SOLVED]

I am currently trying to get the sound to play in archlinux. I have the HP pavillion ZV6000 notebook, which uses either the AC-Audio link or the Legacy audio drivers (I am usure which). What module should i modprobe to get the right driver?

nope that just gave me a bunch of error messages......

I founf out it uses the Conexant AC-Link Audio, could i just ndiswrapper the drivers, or is there a module/driver for my audio?

OK i had the sound down, but then something happened to my user and i was forced to delete it. So now i have the sound working correctly on the root user, but not on the new user i have just created.... I ran alsaconfig and it told me it was all set up, but it wasnt. I can go into the alsamixer and adjust volumes, however when i go to the KDE Control Center and i click on soundsystem and change it to either ALSA or Autodetect, then restart the sound system, it gives me an error saying: the device cannot be opened (Permission Denied!). I also put in

modprobe snd_atiixp

and it did the same thing. What can i do to get my sound working again? or is it possible i can somehow clone my root user account and then rename it, so that i have all of the root users settings? I dunno what to do and it is makeing me frustrated!!

it sounds like the account you made doesnt have permissions to yur soundcard

make sure to add yur account to the audio group
