Evilwm No Longer In Community

I use Evilwm and noticed that it is now no longer available except through AUR. According to the comment on AUR, it was listed as an unneeded orphan. I don't mind compiling it myself but I am curious how it became to be deemed unneeded.

Do anyone know how this process works?

Usually discussions of that sort are on the mailing lists.  See the complete lists here:

https://mailman.archlinux.org/mailman/listinfo

I usually keep up with just arch-dev-public myself but all the individual lists have a purpose.

Re: Evilwm No Longer In Community

If nobody wants to maintain a package, it gets dropped to the AUR. It usually is orphaned, so that people who care can adopt and maintain it.

Edit: I checked the mailing lists and found no discussion about it, so I guess status as an orphan (in the repos) was the reason it was dropped.

Thanks Karol. I wasn't finding anything either, so it's good to know that I wasn't missing something.
